TOPS IS GOING GREEN! We encourage all to join in our GREENING efforts. BANNING THE BOTTLE TOPS and The Park District of Oak Park will NOT be selling or distributing single use bottled water. These bottles are detrimental to the environment: made from petroleum products, end up in landfills & even worse washed into the ocean. Please encourage your swimmers/guests & coaches/officials to bring their own reusable water bottle to the meet. We will have plenty of coolers strategically placed throughout the venue for refilling water. We will also offer sports bottles for sale at a nominal cost. DECREASING PAPER USE We will have heat sheets posted throughout the venue for viewing by swimmers & guests. We will distribute heat sheets to coaches & officials as usual. We hope that guests will take advantage of the posted sheets so as to decrease paper usage. However, we will still offer heat sheets for sale for those who prefer to have their own copy for review. We also are using recycled paper product for our printing needs. RECYCLING Please use the recycling bins available throughout the facility. There will be bins for: paper (heat sheets, newspapers & magazines etc) & for aluminum & plastic. Please DO NOT put garbage in recycling bins. If there is garbage in the recycling, the items in the bin cannot be recycled & our efforts will be in vain. THANKS in advance for joining our efforts. Check out this flier for more details. Parade Update: Our lineup position is number 23. Here is a map of the parade route. See you there at 11am! There will be no practices on Memorial Day. Practice Cancelation <May 10, 2010> Practice tonight, Monday 5/10, at OPRF has been canceled for Silver, Gold, National, Swim-for-Fitnesss and High School squads. Normal practice schedule will resume on Tuesday, 5/11. Long Course 2010 Team Registration <February 27, 2010> Registration of the 2010 Long Course Season is now open to returning TOPS families. Registration must be complete by March 31 to reserve your spot on the team. Meet escrow account details will be sent out next week. 2010 Long Course Registration Packet Team Gear & Apparel Orders 2010 Long Course Meet Schedule Squad Move-up List -- if you are not on the list, please register for the same squad as last season. Contact the swim team office if you have any questions. Practice Tonight <February 19, 2010> The practice schedule is modified for all squads at OPRF tonight. All squads will train in the EAST pool. Gold/National: 4:30-6pm EAST Silver: 7-8:30pm EAST Bronze: 5:30-7pm EAST Spring Small Group Lessons <February 19, 2010> Next week will be the last week of regular TOPS practice until the start of our spring/summer season. Practices in March will only be available for Championship Meet qualifiers and Senior level athletes. In the interm, use our small group lessons to stay sharp and improve your skills! Small group lessons are available for all ability levels and will be kept to about a 1:4 coach/athelte ratio. Check out this flier for class dates and times. Holiday Schedule <November 25, 2009> Happy Thanksgiving! There will be no practice on Thursday and Friday this week for the holiday. The YMCA will have family open swim on Friday from 5-8pm! Saturday (11/28) -- Bro, Sil, Gol, Nat will have practice in the WEST pool from 9:30-11am Oktoberfest Swim Meet <October 23, 2009> There is no practice tonight (Friday, 10/23) at OPRF for the Bronze, Silver, Gold and National squads because of the swim meet this weekend. Red and Black squads still have practice at the YMCA. TOPS Parent Social -- Canceled <October 15, 2009> The parent social this Saturday (10/17) has been canceled.
